Are you looking to get a particular space (or two) organized and you’ve gotten stuck trying to figure it out alone? Hiring a professional organizer can be considered a luxury, but I believe you are repaid in more time and less stress in your daily life. If you’re still on the fence, I’ll share a few tips on maximizing our time together and saving money at the same time. Read on…
Set Clear Goals: Think about your priorities and identify the areas or rooms you want organized. Do you need decluttering, maximizing storage, or creating organized systems? What about a timeline? Do you have a deadline?
Do a Basic Declutter Beforehand: Get rid of obvious trash or unused items; Go through spaces like your closet, kitchen, or garage and remove items you know you don’t need. Also, set aside items that you know you’d like to donate or sell. This is helpful to see what we’ll be working with beforehand.
Presort Categories: If possible, sort items into general categories (clothes, paperwork, toys, etc.). We can then spend less time doing this step, focusing instead on developing organizing systems for you.
Assess What You Already Have: Take stock of baskets, bins, and shelving you already own to avoid unnecessary purchases during the organizing process. Know that because we do purchase organizing products regularly, we have budget-conscious options if you need them.
Communicate Your Budget: Let’s discuss your budget; we can suggest strategies for working in phases and other ways to minimize expenses. Also, DIY beforehand when possible; we can assign tasks you can handle on your own either before our session or between sessions to reduce costs.
These are a few suggestions that can reduce an organizer’s time during the actual session(s), which ultimately saves you money. Like I mentioned above, I believe that time and money spent on organizing sessions pay for themselves and I want everyone to have the ability to experience the peace well-organized spaces bring.
As always, when you’re ready, I’m here for you! Xo
