Preparing for a move isn’t just about packing boxes, it’s about deciding what comes with you into your next space.

Recently, I worked with a family ahead of their move. They came prepared with measurements and a clear sense of what would fit in their new home — something that makes a meaningful difference in how smoothly the process unfolds.

I was brought in to help evaluate pieces in question: what to keep, what to sell, and what no longer needed to make the transition. Together, we walked through each space with a different lens:

  • What still fits the way they want to live?

  • What could be reimagined or refinished?

  • What no longer belongs in this next chapter?

This part of the process is often overlooked but when you thoughtfully take the time to fully edit before a move, you’re not just reducing what you bring with you, you’re creating clarity.

A move is a natural point of transition (and often a stressful one) but it’s also an opportunity to move forward with intention. Deliberate editing at this stage makes the next home not just organized, but aligned from the beginning.
